Can you imagine upping your energy levels, accelerating your physical recovery, and essentially becoming superhuman just by boosting your testosterone levels?

The Experiment

Before I embarked on this journey, I got my blood work done with Inside Tracker and conducted a DEXA scan to measure my body composition. My testosterone level stood at 601 nanograms per deciliter and my free testosterone was at nine nanograms per deciliter. My sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) was at 33, while my lean mass measured 159 pounds. Moreover, my Z-score, linked with bone density compared to people my age, was 0.8, which is quite good.

The supplements I took were Tongkat Ali and Fadogia Agrestis by Momentous Supplements, which I consumed over the next 30 days. The plan was to assess how these supplements influenced my testosterone levels.

Tongkat Ali
Fadogia Agrestis

I took 400 milligrams of Tongkat Ali and 600 milligrams of Fadogia Agrestis. My goal was to measure any changes in my blood work and body composition.

Note: Consult a healthcare professional before trying any new supplement regimen.

My Journey

Initially, I was skeptical about these supplements, especially because they weren’t well regulated by the FDA. However, by day four, I started experiencing insomnia, a known side effect of these supplements. A week into the experiment, I didn’t feel any significant difference.

At about two weeks in, I began to experience some changes. I noticed a slight elevation in my ability to focus and my strength levels. However, the daily pill regimen was growing tiresome. I decided to get my blood work done halfway through the experiment, and to my surprise, my testosterone levels had risen by almost 150 nanograms per deciliter. This spurred me to carry on with the experiment.

The Results

By the final week, I had noticed a significant boost in mood, energy, and focus. In the gym, I was consistently pushing my weights higher and higher. At this point, I was excited to see my DEXA scan results and final blood work.

When I discovered Fadogia Agrestis had not been tested in humans and could potentially cause testicular toxicity, I grew worried. I realized I should have done other blood tests and promptly ordered more through a website I found.

Finally, I got my updated 30-day testosterone results:

My testosterone levels had increased by 39.5% to 838 nanograms per deciliter. My free testosterone had risen by 33% to 12 nanograms per deciliter. My SHBG increased by 6% to 35. My lean mass increased by five pounds to 164.5 pounds. Even my bone density had increased in 30 days, with my Z-score rising to 1.1. I noticed more energy, strength, and motivation to tackle the day. I want to note, however, that individual results may vary.

Concluding Thoughts

It is recommended to cycle on and off these supplements, which I plan to do. The experiment showed a drastic change in my blood work and physical performance. However, I took two weeks off from the regimen after the experiment. The high effort and cost involved may limit the regular use of these supplements.

Remember, always consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new supplements. I share my experience not as a prescription but as a single data point in the vast, complicated world of health and wellness.
